Rainha Njinga

Njinga – Rainha de Angola is the story of a warrior woman who, for 40 years, fought for the independence of Ndongo and Matamba. After the assassination of her son, Njinga focused her energy on the liberation of the Mbundo people, assuming the motto “Those who remain, fight until they win”. An historical film, directed by Portuguese Sérgio Graciano (known for the shows “Conta-me como foi” and “Depois do adeus”), based on a script by Joana Jorge, it tells the story of honour and courage of one of the most important African women in History. Entirely filmed in Angola, the film counts on the participations of Lesliana Pereira, Sílvio Nascimento, Rui Paulo, Joaquim Nicolau and José Fidalgo, among others.
